The final seat tally for the Bihar Assembly Election 2025 saw a decisive victory for the NDA led by BJP and JD(U), with the opposition Mahagathbandhan (RJD-Congress-Left) suffering heavy losses. Here is the exact seat distribution and analysis:

Analysis
The NDA (BJP-JD(U)-LJPR) achieved an unprecedented majority, far surpassing the halfway mark (122 out of 243 seats) and recording 202 seats.
BJP emerged as the individual largest winner within NDA, while JD(U) staged a strong comeback under Nitish Kumar, with female and youth turnout playing a decisive role (women voter turnout reached 71.6%, men 62.8%).
The Mahagathbandhan, headed by RJD and Tejashwi Yadav, lagged far behind, limited to only 35 seats—a significant decline from its previous position.
Notably, the Jan Suraaj Party (Prashant Kishor) and other smaller parties failed to open their account, losing deposits in the vast majority of seats contested.
Issues such as unemployment, education, rural infrastructure, and caste equations appeared central to campaign strategies and the results.
The election was conducted in two phases on November 6 and 11, witnessing record voter participation at 67.13%, the highest since 1951.
The AIMIM and BSP scored limited wins, evidencing marginal support in specific constituencies.
