World Cancer Day is observed every year on 4th February.

It was established by the Union for International Cancer Control (UICC) in 2000 at the World Cancer Summit in Paris.
Purpose: To raise awareness, encourage prevention, detection, and treatment of cancer globally.

– Spread factual information about cancer.

 

2014: Debunk the Myths

– Dispel common misconceptions about cancer.

 

2015: Not Beyond Us

– Cancer management is possible; take action.

 

2016–2018: We Can. I Can.

– Collective and individual actions to reduce cancer impact.

 

2019–2021: I Am and I Will

– Personal commitment to act against cancer.

 

2022–2024: Close the Care Gap

– Address inequities in cancer care access.

 

2025–2027: United by Unique

– People-centered approach; highlights individual stories and needs.
